FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When is the best time to take senior photos?
Typically, you want to take your senior graduation photos in the early Fall of your senior year. This allows enough time to get the images you want to be submitted to the yearbook. Please make sure to check in with your school for photo policies and deadlines. If your school doesn’t allow you to submit your own photo for the yearbook, having your session in the Spring is fine as well. Just keep in mind scheduling, as you will want the images for announcements and/or invitations.
How do I pick a location for my senior photos?
Before the session, we'd love to chat with you about the look and feel you want for your portraits. Whether you are looking for pine trees, lots of green, a rustic look, the Arizona desert, or urban architecture, we have some amazing locations to offer us suggestions. If you have a particular spot in mind, we are always game for new inspiration!
Can I bring my parents or a friend?
Yes, we love when you have someone along for the fun! We encourage you to bring a parent or friend to your session that will help you relax and might even help with those real smiles!
How long are your senior sessions?
Our senior sessions typically last 1/12 - 2 hours at one location and up to two outfit changes. We offer an extended senior session of up to 3 hours that allows for several outfits and different locations.
What does the session fee include?
The session fee covers the creative time to photograph your session and includes the design consultation, viewing and ordering session, along with the retouching of your images. It also includes travel expenses to your chosen location. Travel to areas outside Nicole’s 100 miles radius will incur additional travel fees. This gives us a wide variety of locations we can do your session at.
The session fee does not include any image files or prints.
Session fees are paid at the time of session booking and are non-refundable, as we have set aside an appointment time especially for you. Sessions can be rescheduled with no penalty for illness or inclement weather. There is no minimum order required.
How many outfits can I do for my senior session?
How many outfit changes will depend on what type of session you choose. With our standard session, we can do up to 2 outfits maybe, more if you layer and change fast. With the extended senior session, you can have three or more outfit changes. We always recommend choosing clothing that your feel confident in. This helps you be more relaxed when in front of the camera. We will go over your style, clothing colors and accessories at the pre-session design consultation.
What should I bring to the session?
In addition to your outfit changes, we suggest lip gloss and a brush for the ladies. A small mirror is sometimes helpful if you’d like. Bring any props you would like incorporated into some of your images, and you can even bring your dog! We will discuss all your options at our pre-session design consultation.
What types of products do you offer, and do you do graduation announcements?
We have a variety of beautiful wall portraits to choose from. We offer canvas, framed, and metal pieces that you can hang on your walls. Popular with most of my senior clients is a memory album. These cute 6x9 albums offer thick lay-flat pages that are durable and last for generations. You will enjoy your Senior album for many years to come.
We do offer graduation announcements and many different specialty items along with gift prints for the grandparents or extended family.
Can I purchase the digital files from my session?
While I do offer digital files, I don't highly recommend them. Here's why:
- I use the best print labs available to assure that you are getting a quality product with the best print quality available. I guarantee the work that comes from my labs. So, if you are not happy with how a print turned out, I will work with you to find a resolution. If you use a digital file with a lab of your choice, I will not guarantee the quality, cropping, or coloring issues other labs will have.
- Think about the last time you only bought the digital images. Where are they now? More than likely, you saved them to your computer or burned them to a disk and only looked at them once or twice a year. Why invest so much into something that you don't get to enjoy every day. I believe it is important to display portraits in the home and pass them down through generations. Professional fine art photo paper can last a hundred or more years, and digital files can easily corrupt.
- As a gift to my clients for any artwork or album purchased, I offer the corresponding high-resolution digital file that will print up to 8x10 in size. I also gift a social media watermarked image file of your chosen poses.
- If you truly only want digital files, I offer a discount on the digital files from your session with any purchase of a wall piece or album. I also have a la carte digital packages. All digital files come on a crystal USB drive along with the corresponding 4x6 printed image in a beautiful, reclaimed wood box.
Can I share my images on Social Media?
Absolutely! We love when you share your senior photos! We gift all purchased poses with a watermarked social media ready file.
